This is a long-form radio piece about my dream of becoming a college basketball player and then having it all fall apart at the age of 17. With all the ups and downs that came with it, I found a way out.

It’s a compelling story, which tends to get a bit melancholy at times – even though the topic is depression and how it affects people. Try not to let you pieces get “too far down” for mass consumption. I think there’s really no commercial broadcast venue for long-form storytelling like this; it would make a great podcast which could be targeted to people who are fighting depression. Obviously a lot of work went into assembling this piece; I think it needs an occasional “boost” to keep it moving forward so your listeners stay with you. I’m glad the bad days are fewer and farther between; keep the faith, and work on improving the pacing of the storytelling to draw listeners along with you on the journey.
