WBA Newsroom Student StorytellersThe Silver Spring Neighborhood Center, located in the heart of the Westlawn public housing development on Milwaukee’s Northwest side, has been a productive influence on the Milwaukee community since 1958. One of the center’s most successful endeavors over the years has been serving the teens and young adults who live in the area. Silver Spring is headed by Executive Director Anthony McHenry, who, along with Youth Program Coordinator Kaylin Jones, has established a successful youth development curriculum. High school senior Te’Jon Lucas is the program’s latest success story, crediting the programs offered at Silver Spring with helping him reach his goal of playing Division 1 basketball at the University of Illinois next fall.
